What is a Hotel Honeymoon Room in Maldives?

If you get time, start planning your honeymoon a year in advance. Long distance flights depart 10 months in advance and you will get the best price by booking as soon as the booking is issued.

- Think about what kind of honeymoon you want, somewhere adventurous or just a complete rest? We decided that after all the post-wedding construction, excitement, and exhaustion, we'd probably flop on a paradise island later.
Have a rough idea of the budget and decide if you want to ask your guests for donations for the honeymoon rather than a gift list. We did this.
- You are happy traveling so far, I have always dreamed of Bora Bora for honeymoon but such a long journey is only a week.
The weather is also a consideration, so check out the best destinations for the time of year you're getting married. Despite the fact that we really limited this counsel which I'll discuss in a moment.

I did a lot of research and found that Turquoise Holidays sounded like honeymoon experts and covered a wide range of destinations. I liked the fact that we could even go and make appointments with them, so many travel companies are now online or over the phone. We booked an appointment last August at Turquoise's lovely Beaconsfield offices to discuss destinations, exclusive resorts, and a variety of budget options. We saw Michelle, who couldn't be more helpful and had visited several of the resorts we were visiting in person, so there was a personal experience to discuss. Our wedding was in July and knowing we wanted a week on a tropical beach recommended the Seychelles for the season at that time of year. We talked through and narrowed down a few options and were given a Honeymoon Island book and brochure to pick from, the book is so sweet it's a coffee table type and I love looking at it. I have worked with a lot of travel agents in the past and no one has given us that kind of service. It was a good start! We went off to see options for the Seychelles but Ben and I were really looking forward to visiting the Maldives, with some people we knew and said it was unlike anywhere else on earth. It seemed like a really special place that was definitely honeymoon worthy with the over water villas that you cannot find in many places across the world. I talked to Michelle about The Maldives in Turquoise and she wasn't too keen on recommending it to us because it was the worst time for her and she hated to disappoint us. This one was awful and I was a little intimidated, but did a lot of reading and the general consensus was that you would be very unlucky to get rain all week, if you were going to get any it would be just for an hour or so at night. Because it is low season, prices were a fraction of the price of high season and it worked out cheaper than in Seychelles for very high quality resorts and beaches. I'm not sure if we're lucky with the weather or if the rainy season is just short, but we had amazing sunshine and blue skies every day apart from one! And saw rain only once in a night {which was like a monsoon for a few hours!}.

We decided to move to Maldives and I read a lot on different islands and resorts, there are hundreds to choose from! Michelle suggested Barros and he was one of the ones I shortlisted, it seemed to tick all the boxes for us. It was one of the best house reefs in Maldives for snorkeling, Beautiful clean sandy beaches, Not too far from mainland for a quick transfer, Honeymoon offers, 3 different restaurants, Over water villas, Kids allowed No more amazing reviews.
We set our hearts out on Barros for a week, so now needs our heads up to get the best possible deal. Turquoise was really helpful so I was looking forward to booking with them but if the price was too high compared to other agents we would have had to book elsewhere, weddings are expensive! I called a few other travel agents I've used in the past, ITC, Destinology and Dial A Flight, who have been really good on previous trips, so got their quotes for the same package. In the end, Destinology was a bit cheaper and offered a sunset cruise to the top. I went back to Michelle in Turquoise and surprisingly they match the Destinology offers so we went ahead and booked with Turquoise. I'm so glad we went with them, they have great relationships with resorts and airlines, their packaging for all our travel documents was gorgeous and we were sent a really nice travel wallet and luggage tag a week ago. They couldn't be more helpful during our booking and to top it all off, when we got home they sent us a Bombus Maintenance Map heart with the island on which we stayed {in the above pic}. It's unbelievable that a travel company can have so much hope, while going the extra mile for service and sending a little something extra and gifts. If you're looking to book your honeymoon, or any vacation for that matter, I wouldn't hesitate to give Michelle a call, email or visit at Turquoise. As a bonus for booking, Turquoise will offer you a free gift at the time of booking - you can choose from a range including designer swimwear, New Zealand wine or complimentary airport loungewear if you quote my name in your inquiry {Rebecca Kedgley or Roses and Rolltops}. Michelle's direct phone number is 9810525680 or email aditisharma at 0332@gmail.com. You can also find Turquoise's website here.

- Talk to some reputed travel agents and get a range of quotes, the travel industry is highly competitive.
- Make sure you ask what honeymoon offers you can get, many resorts offer discounts, upgrades or special dinners, etc.
- Trip Advisor Trip Advisor Trip Advisor. Overall some reviews may be inaccurate but overall you can really get a better impression from traveler's photos and reviews than from brochures.
So, enough of our planning, I would love to show you some pictures of our honeymoon.

We got married on Thursday and had a Saturday lunch on a flight from Heathrow to Male via Doha with Qatar Airways. It was nice to spend one day with family on Friday and then go the next day. I made sure I packed before the wedding so that I wouldn't get stressed at the last minute! Flying over the Maldives was an amazing experience, the country is made up of 26 atolls consisting of 1,190 atolls. We landed in heaven on a Sunday morning, Maldives airport couldn't be different from Heathrow, instead of Ola taxi ranks you have boats and seaplanes in turquoise waters. Our luggage was loaded on a speed boat and our host welcomed us with cold towels and drinks for the 20 minute trip to Baros Island.x
